News: 2 pedestrians struck, 1 fatally, by driver in Hernando County

WEEKI WACHEE, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a driver hit two pedestrians in Hernando County early Saturday morning, killing one of them.

A report by Fox 13 Tampa Bay stated that the incident took place on Marvelwood Road near Osprey Avenue in Weeki Wachee just before 1 a.m.

The FHP said a man and a woman walking in the roadway were hit by a northbound vehicle driven by a 19-year-old woman.  The man, a 44-year-old man from Weeki Wachee, suffered fatal injuries.

The woman, a 37-year-o9ld Sarasota resident, was hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening.
