News: Motorcycle rider dies after colliding with semi-truck on Interstate 75 in Wesley Chapel

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL – A motorcycle collision left a man dead and disrupted traffic in a portion of Pasco County on Tuesday afternoon, Fox13News reports.

The Florida Highway Patrol was called to the scene along Interstate 75 near the exit to Overpass Road in Wesley Chapel.  State troopers learned a man riding a motorcycle collided with a tractor-trailer near the 281 mile marker at about 11:40 a.m.  The motorcyclist, a 40-year-old man from Webster, died at the scene.

All northbound lanes of I-75 were shut down and traffic was diverted at Exit 279, resulting in backups that stretched for miles.  Drivers were advised to avoid the area until the interstate reopened later in the day.
