News: 4 injured when vehicle crashes into tree, catches fire on Suncoast Parkway

HERNANDO COUNTY, FL – Rescue crews were dispatched to the scene of a fiery crash on the Suncoast Parkway in Hernando County on Saturday morning.

According to a Facebook post by Hernando County Fire Rescue, Station 11 responded to the single-vehicle accident at about 7:10 a.m.  The unit arrived to find that the vehicle had crashed into a tree and burst into flames.

Four occupants of the vehicle managed to escape, and were taken to an area hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Engine 11 was able to extinguish the fire shortly after arriving.  No details were released on the circumstances that led to the wreck.
