News: Driver arrested after police chase, crash in SW Miami

MIAMI, FL – A woman was hospitalized and a man was taken into custody following a police chase and resulting crash in southwest Miami on Sunday night.

According to a report by Local 10, officers responded to reports of reckless driving in the area of Carver Drive and Lincoln Boulevard. When officers attempted to stop one of the suspects, he took off.

After a brief pursuit, the suspect’s vehicle crashed into a bus near Southwest 120th Street and 117th Avenue.

A passenger in the vehicle was transported to a local hospital after complaining of neck pain. The driver, 20-year-old Willie Harris, was taken into custody on charges of assault on a law enforcement officer, fleeing and eluding police, reckless driving causing serious bodily injury, resisting an officer without violence and possession of cannabis.
