News: Driver killed after crashing into construction equipment on SR-417

ORANGE COUNTY, FL – A driver was killed in a car accident in Orange County on Thursday morning, according to WOFL.

Police said a man was driving south in a northbound construction zone on State Road 417 sometime before 4:30 a.m.  The vehicle collided with construction equipment that was on the roadway.

The driver, whose identity was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene.  No one else was believed to have been in the car, and there were no workers at the scene.

Northbound lanes on SR-417 were shut down for the crash response and investigation before reopening about two hours later.
