News: Elderly couple killed by SUV driver outside of Lady Lake supermarket

LADY LAKE, FL – A man and his wife died after being struck by a driver in an SUV outside of a grocery store in Lake County on Saturday.

According to the Villages-News, 89-year-old Wilfred Maybee was driving a Lexus RX 350 in the parking lot of the Winn-Dixie off Avenida Central at the Spanish Springs Town Square. The elderly couple was in a marked crosswalk in front of the supermarket when Maybee struck them.

84-year-old Marilyn Mann died Saturday night at Central Florida Regional Medical Center in Ocala. Edward Mann died two days later at the same hospital.

Authorities are investigating the fatal crash. No charges have yet been made.
