PINELLAS COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said one person was killed and another injured in a pickup truck accident in Pinellas County Thursday morning.

WWSB reported the wreck took place on a ramp connecting Interstate 75 to Interstate 275 at about 3:10 a.m.

State troopers said the driver of an eastbound pickup lost control of the vehicle while heading toward the ramp’s southbound entrance.  The truck rotated to the side of the road and flipped over multiple times.

The driver and one passenger, who were not wearing seatbelts, were both ejected from the pickup.  The passenger, a 36-year-old man from Sarasota, was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver was seriously injured.  Another passenger, a 30-year-old Sarasota woman, was not injured.  She was wearing a seatbelt, troopers said.
