TAVARES, FL – A driver died Tuesday morning after his vehicle was involved in an accident in Lake County, police said.
According to Inside Lake, the single-vehicle wreck occurred in the vicinity of State Road 19 at South Eichelberger Road in Tavares.
A passerby notified police shortly before 6 a.m. that a 2020 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck had crashed at that location. A preliminary investigation by the Tavares Police Department indicated that the driver had been heading south on State Road 19 when the pickup went off the roadway and collided with a tree.
The driver, identified as 64-year-old Anthony Torres of Tavares, was found dead at the scene. A police investigation is underway into the cause of the fatal accident.
