HOMOSASSA, FL – Two people were sent to the hospital after a crash in Homosassa Tuesday morning reports the Citrus County Chronicle.

The accident happened on Highway 19 at West Yulee Drive between a driver in a Chevrolet pickup and a driver in a Dodge Challenger.

The driver in the pickup attempted to make a U-turn on the highway under a flashing yellow signal when they collided with the oncoming Dodge.

The driver and passenger of the Chevrolet were both transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Dodge driver was uninjured.

Police say speeding may have been a factor in the crash.
