News: 2 killed, 1 seriously injured in Pinellas Co. crash

PALM HARBOR, FL – Two people were killed and another was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash in Pinellas County Saturday morning.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, a 32-year-old man from New Port Richey was driving a Hyundai Accent north on Bentley Drive. He approached and stopped at an intersection at Alderman Road.

Meanwhile, an 18-year-old man from Palm Harbor was headed eastbound in a Ford Mustang on Alderman Road at a high rate of speed. As the Hyundai driver turned left at the intersection, he was struck on the driver’s side by the Mustang.

The impact caused the Hyundai to crash into a pedestrian traffic signal and a tree.

The driver and a 30-year-old female passenger of the Hyundai both died at the scene. The Mustang’s driver was rushed to Bayfront Health with serious injuries.
