News: 60-year-old pedestrian fatally struck by pickup truck in Marion County

MARION COUNTY, FL – State troopers are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle in Marion County early Sunday morning, according to a report by WKMG.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the victim was attempting to cross in the area of State Road 200 and SW 60th Street in Ocala at about 12:10 a.m. when he was struck by a pickup truck going west on SR-200.  The pedestrian, a 60-year-old Ocala man, died at the scene. His name was not released.

The FHP said the man was walking within the westbound lanes of SR-200 at the time he was hit.

A Dunnellon woman who was driving the pickup truck was not injured.
