News: Bicyclist fatally struck by hit-and-run driver in Dade City

DADE CITY, FL –  The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred in Pasco County Tuesday night.

The Tampa Bay Times reports the crash happened on Tait Avenue near Lee Avenue in Dade City at about 8:35 p.m.

The FHP said a 42-year-old man was riding a bicycle north across Tait Avenue when he was struck by a westbound vehicle.  The bicyclist, a Dade City resident, was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

State troopers said the driver involved left the scene following the crash without stopping to help.  Anyone with further information about the incident was asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol or Crime Stoppers.
