DADE CITY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a rollover accident in Pasco County last week left a driver dead.

According to the Suncoast News, the accident happened May 31 on Darby Road near Old Darby Road in Dade City.  The FHP said a man was driving eastbound in an SUV at about 3:48 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle while approaching a curve.

The SUV went off the roadway and onto the north shoulder.  When the driver over-corrected, the SUV went back onto the road, onto the south shoulder and overturned multiple times.

HUDSON, FL – A man is facing charges in connection with a crash that killed a pedestrian in Pasco County last month, state troopers said.

A report by WFLA states that the suspect is identified as 30-year-old Mason Ryan Stevenson of Webster.  According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Stevenson was driving on Bolton Avenue May 26 when his vehicle fatally struck a 31-year-old Hudson woman who walked into his path.  Stevenson allegedly fled the scene of the incident.

His vehicle was later found abandoned near the scene.  Acting on a tip received by the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, the FHP located Stevenson in Hudson and he was arrested last Wednesday at about 5:30 p.m.

PASCO COUNTY, FL – A pedestrian accident in Pasco County early Friday morning claimed the life of a teenager, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

According to a report by WFLA, a 19-year-old male was walking in the travel lanes of State Road 54 when the incident took place at about 4:20 a.m.

The pedestrian was hit by a vehicle just west of Rowan Road.  The victim, a New Port Richey resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.

PASCO COUNTY, FL –  A motorcycle and a sedan were involved in a deadly collision on Saturday afternoon in Pasco County, reports WFLA.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a man was riding a motorcycle south on US-19 in Hudson at about 3 p.m. when he crossed over the center median and collided head-on with a sedan.

The motorcycle rider, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.  He was a 59-year-old Seminole man whose name was not released.  The driver of the sedan, a 22-year-old Spring Hill woman, was not injured.  The FHP is investigating the crash, which shut down US-19 northbound.

PASCO COUNTY, FL – A collision involving a bus and a car on Interstate 75 in Pasco County left two people injured, reports WTSP.

The crash happened near State Road 56 early Friday morning at about 12:10 a.m.  According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of a Pontiac lost control of the car while headed south on I-75.

The Pontiac struck a guardrail, was redirected back into a traffic, and collided with a Greyhound bus traveling south on I-75.  As a result of the impact, the bus went over the median, overturned and ended up in the northbound lanes of I-75.

PASCO COUNTY, FL – A car accident in Pasco County Wednesday left two teenagers hospitalized, WFLA reports.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of a Chevrolet Corvette was travelling at high speed on Interstate 75 south near Overpass Road and lost control of the car.

The Corvette swerved to the inside shoulder, hit a guardrail, slid across three lanes and came to rest on the west shoulder.  The driver, an 18-year-old Spring Hill man, and his passenger, an 18-year-old Spring Hill woman, were seriously injured and taken to an area hospital.  State troopers said both were wearing their seatbelts.

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL – Two people died following a collision between a car and a truck in Pasco County last week, Pasco News Online reports.

The accident happened in the area of State Road 54 and Morris Bridge Road on the morning of April 7.  The Florida Highway Patrol said an 81-year-old woman was driving a car west on State Road 54 when she turned into the path of an eastbound tractor-trailer.

The truck crashed into the car, and both vehicles wound up in the southeast part of the intersection.  The driver of the car, a Zephyrhills resident, and her passenger, a 38-year-old New York resident, died after being taken to an area hospital.  Another passenger in the car was hospitalized in serious condition.

PASCO COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a pickup truck and an SUV were involved in a deadly crash on U.S. Highway 19 in Pasco County.

The Tampa Bay Times reports the accident happened near the intersection with Sea Ranch Drive. According to the FHP, a man driving an SUV north on U.S. 19 made a left turn into the path of a pickup truck, which collided with the SUV.  The pickup ended up on the west shoulder of the roadway while the SUV went into the grass median following the impact.

The SUV driver, a 79-year-old New Port Richey man, was pronounced dead at the scene.  He was not wearing a seatbelt.  The driver of the pickup, a 35-year-old man, and three passengers, a 30-year-old woman and two girls ages 4 and 8, suffered minor injuries.  The four occupants of the pickup, all Spring Hill residents, were reported to have been wearing their seatbelts.

HUDSON, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a man was killed when his motorcycle crashed in Pasco County last week, Suncoast News reported.

The accident happened Friday morning on Old Dixie Highway near Race Track Road shortly after 3 a.m. According to the FHP, the motorcyclist was headed north on Old Dixie Highway when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road.  The bike went across the southbound lanes and onto the west shoulder, where it overturned.

The rider, a 37-year-old Port Richey man, was thrown from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a vehicle crashed into a restaurant in Pasco County Friday morning, WTSP reports.

The accident happened at Panera Bread at the Shoppes at Wiregrass on Willet Way in Wesley Chapel.  According to the FHP, a man lost control of a Kia Rio while driving east on State Road 56 shortly before 7 a.m.  The vehicle crossed the median into the westbound lanes, entered the Panera parking lot, struck a parked car and then slammed into the building.

The car caught fire but firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze and come to the driver’s aid.  The driver, a 36-year-old Georgia man, was hospitalized with minor injuries.  No other injuries were reported.
