News: Man walking on Pasco County roadway fatally struck by vehicle

PASCO COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol released information regarding a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred in Pasco County Saturday night.

According to WFLA, a man was struck and killed by a vehicle on Plathe Road near Acropolis Lane.  The FHP learned that the pedestrian was walking in or across the roadway at about 10:05 p.m. when he was hit by an eastbound Buick Century.

The pedestrian, a 58-year-old man from New Port Richey, died after being transported to an area hospital.  The driver of the Buick was a 30-year-old man from Holiday.

The crash remains under investigation by state troopers, who said it does not appear that the driver will face charges.
