News: Motorcycle rider dies after being struck by vehicles on US 27

CLERMONT, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a motorcyclist was killed in an accident in Lake County on Sunday evening.

WKMG reported details of the incident that occurred on U.S. Highway 27 at Frank Jarrell Road near Clermont.

The FHP said a man was riding a 2024 Kawasaki southbound on U.S. 27 at about 6:22 and lost control of the bike, causing him to fall onto the road.  The motorcyclist, a 26-year-old Kissimmee resident, was struck by eight vehicles and pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported, and the drivers of all the vehicles involved stayed at the scene.

State troopers are continuing their investigation into the incident.
