News: Motorcyclist dies after rear-ending SUV on County Road 486

HERNANDO COUNTY, FL – A motorcycle and a sport utility vehicle were involved in a deadly collision in Hernando County last week, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

According to the Citrus County Chronicle, the incident took place Friday night at the intersection of County Road 486 and North Farima Avenue.

The FHP said a 75-year-old Beverly Hills woman was driving an SUV north and stopped for a stop sign.  When she tried to make a left turn she entered the path of the eastbound motorcycle, which crashed into the back of the SUV.

The motorcycle rider, a 50-year-old man from Hernando, was thrown from the bike and was killed.  The victim’s identity was not released.
