PASCO COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol has released new details on a multi-vehicle accident that occurred in Pasco County last Thursday.
This is an update to a previous story.
According to WTVT, a 7-year-old Odessa girl died on Saturday from injuries sustained in the crash on State Road 54 and Lakepointe Parkway.
State troopers said the driver of a Ford E350 box truck failed to stop at the intersection and rear-ended a Volkswagen Jetta. The impact caused the Jetta to hit a Jeep Wrangler, while the Ford also hit the Jeep and a Hyundai Tuscon during the course of the crash.
The 7-year-old was a passenger in the Jetta. A 3-year-old girl was critically injured in the wreck.
The FHP said the box truck driver was operating his vehicle in a careless or negligent manner, and was reported to be at fault in the incident.
