News: Ocala man fatally struck by car on road in Marion County

MARION COUNTY, FL – State troopers said a man was killed in a pedestrian accident early Friday morning in Marion County, according to WKMG.

The Florida Highway Patrol released a report on the incident that happened in the area of SE Maricamp Road and Southeast Bahia Avenue Court at about 12:37 a.m.

According to the FHP, a man was in the outside lane of the roadway on Southeast Maricamp Road when he was struck by a sedan heading east.  The pedestrian, a 42-year-old man from Ocala, suffered fatal injuries.

The driver, a 38-year-old Belleview man, was not injured.  The FHP is investigating the incident and is trying to determine why the victim was in the road at that time.
