News: SUV rear-ended by Marion County school bus on State Road 40


OCALA, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said an SUV collided with a Marion County school bus on Tuesday, reports.

The vehicles were both headed west on State Road 40 when the crash happened at the intersection with SW 140th Avenue shortly before 5 p.m.

According to the FHP, the driver of the SUV stopped for traffic at the intersection but the driver of the school bus directly behind it could not stop in time and crashed into the back of the SUV.

The driver of the SUV, a 76-year-old Dunnellon man, the driver of the bus, a 56-year-old Dunnellon woman, and a bus passenger, a 63-year-old Reddick woman, were not injured.  No students were on board the bus at the time.
