According to The Suncoast News, the accident happened on Mariner Boulevard near Little Street.

The FHP said a Ford F150 with a car trailer transporting a Saturn Vue was parked on the sidewalk next to Mariner Boulevard.  As the pedestrian was standing on the edge of the road helping to load and secure the Saturn, he was struck by a BMW that was headed north on Mariner Boulevard.

The victim, a 30-year-old man from Tampa, was pronounced dead after being taken to a nearby hospital.

The driver of the BMW fled the scene of the crash.  The FHP said the vehicle being sought is a 2017 or newer BMW X-series sport utility vehicle.
