News: Van driver killed in crash with tractor-trailer in Pasco County

PASCO COUNTY, FL – A driver died after his van was involved in a collision with a tractor-trailer in Pasco County Tuesday afternoon, reports The Free Press.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the two vehicles were going in opposite directions on Bellamy Brothers Boulevard near Johnston Road at about 1:11 p.m.

As the van driver negotiated a right-hand curve in the road, the vehicle entered the path of the tractor-trailer and hit the truck on the left side.  The van then rotated to a stop in the southbound lane.

The van driver, a 42-year-old man from Plant City, died of his injuries later after being transported to an area hospital.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 37-year-old Highland man, sustained minor injuries.
