BROOKSVILLE, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol was at the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident in Brooksville on Thursday night.
According to The Free Press, a woman was struck by a pickup truck near the intersection of East Jefferson Street and Asmara Street shortly before 8:30 p.m.
State troopers determined that the 72-year-old victim was walking east across the intersection of Asmara Street when she was hit by the pickup truck that was heading north.
The pedestrian, a Brooksville resident, was pronounced dead after being rushed to area hospital. A 73-year-old man from Homosassa who was driving the pickup was not injured.
