News: Man walking across U.S. 19 in Pasco County struck, killed by vehicle

PASCO COUNTY, FL – State troopers said a pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle in Pasco County Saturday night.

The Suncoast News reported the accident happened on U.S. 19 near the intersection with Viva Via Drive at about 10:11 p.m.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a man was walking east across U.S. 19 when he was struck by a southbound pickup truck.  The victim, a 52-year-old St. Petersburg resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The pickup driver, a 72-year-old man, and his passenger, a 63-year-old woman, were not injured. Both are Port Richey residents.
