LAKE COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said an accident in Lake County late Monday night claimed the life of a teenage pedestrian.
According to a report by the Leesburg News, the incident took place on U.S. Highway 27 in Clermont shortly before midnight.
The FHP stated that an 18-year-old male was walking across the northbound lanes of the highway near Lake Louisa Road and was struck by a northbound 2010 Acura RDX SUV. The pedestrian, a Kissimmee resident, died at the scene.
CLERMONT, FL – An accident involving a pickup truck in Lake County on Saturday afternoon left two people dead, WKMG reports.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the incident happened along the Florida Turnpike near mile marker 280 in Clermont. According to the FHP, the driver of a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado was going south in a construction zone at about 2:30 p.m. when the vehicle went off the roadway and onto the right shoulder.
The pickup then collided with a concrete storm drain box and overturned. The driver and a back-seat passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the front seat was seriously injured and taken to an area hospital.
CLERMONT, FL – A search is underway for a driver who was involved in a multi-vehicle crash in Lake County on Thursday afternoon.
WKMG reports the accident occurred on the Florida Turnpike near mile marker 276 in Clermont at about 4 p.m. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of a northbound minivan had stopped for traffic and was rear-ended by a Honda. A Chevy and a Subaru behind the Honda could not stop in time and also were involved in the collision.
The driver of the minivan left the scene and is being sought, the FHP said. The vehicle involved was silver or gray and may have minimal damage in the rear.
CLERMONT, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a driver who had been involved in a crash on the Florida Turnpike was struck and killed while walking on the roadway Sept. 7.
According to the Leesburg-News, the man was driving an Acura in Lake County near Clermont when he lost control of the car, drove off the road and struck an embankment. The driver was walking away from the crash scene in the turnpike’s northbound lanes when he was hit by a Kia Soul at about 9:45 p.m.
The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
