PASCO COUNTY, FL – A motorcycle and a garbage truck were involved in a fatal crash in Pasco County Monday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

According to a report by Pasco News Online, the collision took place in the area of State Road 54 and Monmouth Drive.  The FHP said the driver of a westbound Waste Management garbage truck was trying to make a turn from SR-54 onto Monmouth Drive and crashed into an eastbound motorcycle.

The motorcycle rider died at the scene.  He was a 51-year-old man from Lutz, authorities said.  The truck driver, a 35-year-old resident of Spring Hill, was not injured.

LAND O’LAKES, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Pasco County on Sunday morning.

Pasco News Online reports the accident happened on Ehren Cutoff near Tower Road in Land O’Lakes.  According to state troopers, a 35-year-old Tampa man was going over the speed limit while riding south on a Yamaha motorcycle and lost control of the bike.

The motorcycle went off the road and hit a utility pole on the shoulder.  The rider, whose name was not immediately released, was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital.

PASCO COUNTY, FL – A semi-truck accident in Pasco County on Monday morning left two people injured and caused major traffic delays, WFTS reported.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the incident took place on State Road 56 at about 11:15 a.m.  An investigation indicated that an SUV hit a gravel truck as both vehicles were changing lanes near I-75 and Cypress Ridge Boulevard.

The truck overturned, and both drivers were injured.  No details were released on the severity of their injuries.

ODESSA, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a man riding a motorcycle was killed in a collision in Pasco County on Tuesday night.

The Tampa Free Press reports the incident occurred at the intersection of State Road 54 and Fencepost Drive at about 9 p.m.

The FHP’s investigation determined that the operator of a Harley Davidson motorcycle was heading west on SR-54 when he stopped at Fencepost Drive for an oncoming fire truck that was responding to a service call.

DADE CITY, FL – One person died and four others were hospitalized following a multi-vehicle crash in Pasco County Monday afternoon, according to Pasco News Online.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of a Mercedes C300 was going north on US-301 north of Rapid River Boulevard when she crossed into the southbound lane.  The Mercedes crashed into a southbound Isuzu truck head-on, causing it to rotate into the path of a Toyota 4Runner going north.

The Toyota driver, a 19-year-old man from Dade City, died at the scene.  The driver of the Mercedes, a 39-year-old Zephyrhills woman, the driver of the Isuzu, a 61-year-old Zephyrhills man, and two passengers in the Isuzu, 19-year-old men from Plant City and Thonotosassa, were all transported to area hospitals.  None of their injuries were life-threatening.

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL – A car and a motorcycle were involved in a deadly crash in Pasco County on Wednesday afternoon, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

According to a report by Pasco News Online, the incident took place in the vicinity of 23rd Street and 8th Avenue in Zephyrhills.  The FHP’s investigation determined that the driver of a Chevy Equinox, a 77-year-old Zephyrhills man, was heading south shortly before 3:30 p.m. and turned into the path of a northbound motorcycle.

The motorcycle rider was taken to an area hospital following the collision and was pronounced dead.  The victim was a 38-year-old man from Zephyrhills, state troopers said.

PASCO COUNTY, FL – A collision at an intersection in Pasco County killed two men in one of the vehicles, according to WFLA.

The Florida Highway Patrol said two vehicles crashed at State Road 54 and Virginia City Drive on Saturday afternoon just before 3 p.m.

The FHP learned that the driver of a Kia Sorento was speeding while traveling west on State Road 54 when the driver of a Lexus RX entered the intersection and turned into the path of the Kia.

PASCO COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a motorcyclist died following a collision with a parked vehicle in Pasco County, according to a report by WFLA.

The crash took place March 16 on Evergreen Court near Cummer Road in the area of the Cypress Manor residential community near Dade City.

The FHP said a man was riding a Yamaha motorcycle southbound at about 11:52 a.m. when he lost control of the bike and collided with a Toyota RAV4.  At the time the Toyota was not occupied and was parked near the residential community.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL – New Port Richey police responded to the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident that took place on Thursday morning, reports the Tampa Free Press.

The incident happened in the area of US Highway 19 and Green Key Road.  According to police, a man walking east on the highway from the center median at about 7:25 a.m. was hit by a vehicle heading north in the middle lane.  The pedestrian died after after being taken to Bayonet Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, police said.  So far there have been no criminal charges in the case.

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol was called to the scene of a fatal collision involving two vehicles in Pasco County on Wednesday night.

New Port Richey Patch reports the accident happened on Chancey Road north of Correia Drive in Zephyrhills.  According to the FHP’s investigation, a woman was driving north on Chancey Road shortly before 7:30 p.m. when she lost control of her vehicle while going around a curve and crossed over the center line.

The vehicle collided nearly head-on with another vehicle.  The driver of the first vehicle, a 44-year-old woman from Apollo Beach, was pronounced dead at the scene.
