News: 1 seriously injured in multi-vehicle wreck on Highway 40 in Marion County

MARION COUNTY, FL – One person was seriously injured in a multi-vehicle accident in Marion County Friday night, reports WCJB.

The incident happened on Highway 40 in the area of 183rd Avenue Road near Silver Springs at about 7:47 p.m.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the collision involved a Ford sedan, a van and an R.V.  The injured victim was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center, where they were listed in serious condition.

Both lanes of Highway 40 were shut down by the wreck before reopening later in the evening.
