MARION COUNTY, FL – A motorcycle accident in Marion County claimed the life of an area high school student, WGFL reports.
The crash happened on Northwest 100th Avenue last Tuesday morning at about 8:30 a.m. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an 18-year-old male was driving a motorcycle north and crossed paths with another vehicle as he merged into the southbound lane.
The motorcyclist was struck by the vehicle and was pronounced dead after being taken to UF Health Shands Hospital. He was identified as James Wilkerson.
