News: Driver, passenger killed when car slams into tree in Marion County

MARION COUNTY, FL –  State troopers said a car accident in Marion County on Tuesday night left two people dead.

A report by WKMG states the crash took place near Ocklawaha, in the area of County Road 464C and SE 99th Place.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a driver crossed over a double yellow line on County Road 464C, went onto the north shoulder, then veered across both travel lanes before going onto the south shoulder and crashing into a tree.

The driver and a passenger both were killed in the wreck.  The victims’ identities were not immediately released.  There was no word on whether the two were wearing seat belts.
