LEESBURG, FL – Police in Leesburg said a man has died of his injuries following a bicycle accident last Wednesday, the Daily Commercial reports.

The victim was identified as 64-year-old Timothy Rodiez of Leesburg.  Investigators said he was riding a bicycle on U.S. 27 near the entrance to the Legacy Retirement Community at about 4:30 p.m. when he was struck by a car.

Rodiez was pronounced dead over the weekend at Orlando Regional Medical Center.  Police are continuing to investigate the incident, but have said it was not a hit-and-run.

They added that Rodiez did not live at Legacy but was a resident of another local retirement community.
