MARION COUNTY, FL – The driver of a pickup truck was killed when his vehicle crashed in Marion County early Wednesday morning.
According to WGFL, the victim was a 27-year-old man who was driving a Dodge pickup west on Southeast 175th Street when the accident occurred at about 12:00 a.m.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the man was driving at a high rate of speed and drove off the road onto the south shoulder. The Dodge crashed into a fence and struck multiple trees.
Marion County Fire Rescue pronounced the driver dead at the scene. The FHP is continuing its investigation into the cause of the wreck.
