News: Pedestrian dies after being hit by car on I-75 in Marion County

MARION COUNTY, FL – State troopers were at the scene of a fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian accident in Marion County early Monday morning.

According to the Gainesville Sun, a man was trying to walk across the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 at about 2 a.m. when he walked into the path of a Ford Mustang at mile marker 362.

The pedestrian, whose name was not released, was struck by the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries.  The driver of the Ford, a 33-year-old man, and his passenger, a 32-year-old woman, were not injured.  Both are Orlando residents.

The driver stopped in the center southbound lane following the crash.
