News: Woman dies after being struck by vehicle on US 19 in Port Richey

PORT RICHEY, FL – A pedestrian accident claimed the life of a woman in Pasco County last week, police said.

Pasco News Online reported details of the crash that occurred early Christmas morning in the area of US 19 and Grand Boulevard in Port Richey.  Police responded to the scene after being notified of the incident shortly after midnight.

According to Port Richey Police, two women had left a bar in the area and were walking to a gas station at the intersection.

They attempted to walk across US 19 but walked about 150 south of the traffic-light controlled pedestrian crosswalk.  One of the women was hit by a northbound vehicle.  The victim, age 31, died after being taken to an area hospital.  The other woman made it across safely.
