HERNANDO COUNTY, FL – A motorcycle rider was killed in a collision with a vehicle in Hernando County on Sunday afternoon, WTVT reports.

The Florida Highway Patrol stated that an 81-year-old Hudson man was driving a Kia Soul north on Cobblestone Drive at about 1:12 p.m. when he tried to cross the eastbound lanes of Spring Hill Drive to turn left and head west.

The Kia entered the path of a Kawasaki motorcycle going east on Spring Hill Drive and was struck by the bike.  The motorcyclist, a 30-year-old Spring Hill man, died after being taken to an area hospital.

SPRING HILL, FL – State troopers said a motorcycle rider was killed in a collision with a vehicle in Hernando County on Friday afternoon.

WTVT reports the victim was a 50-year-old man from Spring Hill who was riding a Suzuki motorcycle west on Spring Hill Drive at about 4 p.m.  The Florida Highway Patrol said a 55-year-old woman was driving a Chevy Colorado in the same direction and merged into the motorcyclist’s inside lane east of Godfrey Avenue.

The truck hit the motorcycle, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.  His name was not immediately released.

SPRING HILL, FL – A driver suspected of hitting two Spring Hill crossing guards in a hit-and-run incident this week was taken into custody, according to a WFLA report.

The crossing guards were struck by a vehicle at Deltona Boulevard and Northcliffe Boulevard on Wednesday afternoon at about 4 p.m.   The Florida Highway Patrol’s investigation found that the driver of a Ford Focus was struck by another vehicle and came to a stop.  The driver of the Ford then continued going in the wrong direction toward the intersection and hit one of the crossing guards, an 82-year-old man, then struck the other guard, a 52-year-old man.  The victims were seriously injured and rushed to an area hospital.

The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office said the Focus was later located on Deltona Boulevard.  The alleged driver, 54-year-old Robert Noack, had walked away from the vehicle but was apprehended and arrested, authorities said.

SPRING HILL, Fla. – A motorcyclist was killed in an accident involving two other vehicles in Hernando County on Saturday morning, state troopers said.

According to WTVT, the crash took place on Mariner Boulevard near Landover Boulevard in Spring Hill.

An investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol found that a man was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on Mariner Boulevard at about 2 a.m. when he made a left turn and entered the path of a Mercedes CLK320.  The motorcycle struck the Mercedes at the intersection and was then sent into the northbound lanes, where it collided with a Nissan Altima.

SPRING HILL, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a car accident in Spring Hill Monday night left two men dead, reports the Hernando Sun.

The victims were riding in a Cadillac ATS sedan when the crash occurred in the vicinity of Mariner Boulevard and Casa Grande Circle.

The initial investigation determined that the driver was headed south on Mariner Boulevard shortly before 10:30 p.m. and was unable to negotiate a curve in the roadway.  The Cadillac entered the median, went back over the southbound lanes, and then struck two transformer utility boxes and a concrete wall.

SPRING HILL, FL –  A car accident in Spring Hill late Saturday night left two teenagers dead, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The Florida Highway Patrol released details of the fatal wreck, which occurred on Mariner Boulevard at about 11:05 p.m.  The FHP said a 17-year-old male was driving a Toyota Camry southbound and failed to negotiate a curve in the road near Santee Street.

As the car rotated, the teen drove off the road and the vehicle overturned in the front yard of a home on Mariner Boulevard, where it crashed into a tree.

SPRING HILL, FL – A suspected drunk driver has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash in Hernando County.

According to Pasco News Online, the suspect was identified as 38-year-old Reinier Casola Rodriguez of Tampa.  The Florida Highway Patrol said he was driving a Ford F-150 northbound on Mariner Boulevard at a high rate of speed on Oct. 18 at about 7 p.m.   When he failed to negotiate a curve near Quality Drive and entered the center median, a man riding in the front seat who was not wearing a seat belt fell out of the pickup truck.

The truck continued traveling to the west shoulder before hitting a utility box.  The passenger, a 34-year-old man from West Palm Beach, was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital.  Two other men riding in the pickup, ages 47 and 29, suffered minor injuries.

SPRING HILL, FL – Three people were injured in a crash involving an alleged drunk driver in Hernando County on Monday, reports the Suncoast News. 

The Florida Highway Patrol released information on the accident that happened at the intersection of U.S. 19 and Breakwater Boulevard in Spring Hill.

According to the FHP, 72-year-old James Victor Cocchi of Spring Hill was driving a pickup truck north on U.S. 19 at 5:21 p.m. when he made a left turn at a traffic signal that was red.  The vehicle crashed into the left side of a marked Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission pickup truck headed south on U.S. 19.  Both vehicles came to rest in the intersection.

SPRING HILL, FL –  The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a collision that killed a teenage motorcyclist in Spring Hill on Sunday night.

WFLA reports details of the incident that occurred in the vicinity of Devlin Street and Cortez Boulevard.

According to the FHP’s investigation, a 57-year-old woman was driving an SUV shortly after 10 p.m. when she drove through a stop sign without yielding and struck the 18-year-old motorcycle rider.  He was ejected from the motorcycle and collided with a pickup truck that was parked outside a bar on Cortez Boulevard.

SPRING HILL, FL – Authorities said a driver was killed when his car crashed during storm conditions of Hurricane Idalia on Wednesday morning.

According to WTVT, the accident happened on Saint Joe Road near Interstate 75.  The Florida Highway Patrol said a man was driving a Ford Ranger eastbound at about 6:15 a.m. when his vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a tree.

The driver, a 40-year-old Spring Hill man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
