News: 2 injured in collision involving minivan and pickup in Ocala

OCALA, FL – Rescue crews were dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle collision in Ocala on Sunday afternoon.

Ocala Fire Rescue said Engine 5, Rescue 5, Tower 1, Battalion Chief 22, and a Safety Officer responded to the 2400 block of Northeast 49th Terrace shortly before 3 p.m.

Crews found a Nissan minivan and a Ford pickup truck with heavy front-end damage that were facing westbound on State Road 40.  Rescuers had to pry open the door of the minivan to extricate the driver.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital as trauma alerts, while an infant in the minivan was not injured.

The Ocala Police Department, Marion County Fire Rescue, and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.
