News: Holiday man, 71, fatally struck by pickup on US 19

HOLIDAY, FL – A man died following a pedestrian accident in Pasco County Friday morning, state troopers said.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, the victim was a 71-year-old man who was walking across the intersection of U.S. 19 and Mile Stretch Drive in Holiday at about 4:15 a.m.  The Florida Highway Patrol said the pedestrian was walking against a traffic light when he was struck by a southbound Ford F-150 pickup truck that had the green light at the time.

The victim, a Holiday resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The pickup driver, a 65-year-old man, and his passenger, a 58-year-old woman, were not injured. Both are from Spring Hill.
