HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – A man is facing DUI and manslaughter charges in connection a crash that claimed the life of a Zephyrhills woman on Tuesday night.

According to a report by the Tampa Free Press, the crash happened at about 10 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-75 near milepost 268.

Troopers believe the driver of a Honda Accord, 31-year-old Michael Troy Jones, struck a Chevrolet Cruz driven by a 25-year-old man from Zephyrhills. The Chevrolet then struck the median before colliding with a tree.

SPRING HILL, FL – A motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle collision east of Spring Hill on Friday morning, the Tampa Free Press reports.

Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol say the motorcyclist was heading south on Anderson Snow Road when he turned left at Corporate Boulevard and crashed into a northbound Jeep Wrangler.

The motorcyclist, an unidentified Spring Hill man, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

TAMPA, FL – A woman was killed in a collision involving a police patrol vehicle near Tarpon Springs this morning.

According to WFLA, the crash took place at about 2:15 a.m. in the southbound lanes of US-19 near the exit to Klosterman Road.

FHP said several patrol vehicles were parked on the inside lane of the freeway when a 2010 Hyundai Accent slammed into the rear of one of the cruisers.

OLDSMAR, FL – A 6-year-old girl was killed, and her mother and sister were injured, after all three were struck by a driver at an intersection in Oldsmar Saturday evening.

According to the Tampa Free Press, a 40-year-old woman and her two daughters, ages 10 and 6, were attempting to cross the street at the intersection of West St. Petersburg Drive and Bayview Boulevard.

A driver in a Nissan Altima was traveling westbound on West St. Petersburg Drive when he struck the three as they entered the roadway.

SPRING HILL, FL – A person was struck and killed by a driver in a pickup in Hernando County Thursday morning.

According to FOX13, the bicyclist was hit around 5:30 a.m. on County Line Road near Broad Street. A driver in a Ford F250 was heading south in the turn lane of Broad Steet when they crashed into the person, claiming they did not see them.

Authorities closed down the roadways while investigating the fatal crash.

CITRUS COUNTY, FL – A Spring hill man was killed after a crash on his motorcycle in Citrus County Tuesday night.

According to The Free Press, the man was operating a motorcycle on US-19 southbound north of Cardinal Street when he slowed or stopped in the roadway.

A 68-year-old Homosassa woman rear-ended the motorcycle, ejecting the man into the roadway. Two separate drivers in a pickup and SUV then struck the man while trying to avoid the collision.

SPRING HILL, FL – A man has died of injuries he suffered when his motorcycle was hit by a driver leaving a church on the south side of Spring Hill late last month.

The 47-year-old motorcyclist died Sunday after being hospitalized for three days.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, the accident happened at the intersection of Shady Hills Road and Fringe Tree Drive around 6:30 p.m. last Thursday.

PASCO COUNTY, FL – A man was fatally struck by a pickup truck while he was crossing an intersection south of Spring Hill on his moped Tuesday.

The incident happened at the intersection of Colony Road and Fairwinds Road as the moped rider made a left turn from Lake Karl Drive, reports WFLA. Police say the man came to a complete stop before attempting the turn.

The driver of a Ford F-150 failed to stop at a stop sign on Fairwinds Road, proceeded into the intersection, and collided with the moped.

SPRING HILL, FL – A man was killed early this morning when his vehicle slammed into a power pole in northeast Spring Hill.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, the 25-year-old driver lost control of his vehilce on Elgin Boulevard near Fenian Drive at about 6:23 a.m.

Police say the man was unable to negotiate the curve, causing his SUV to leave the roadway and crash into the pole.

SPRING HILL, FL – A woman and her infant son were killed in a four-vehicle crash in Spring Hill, WFLA reports.

The crash took place some time before noon in the northbound lanes of US-19 near the intersection with Berkeley Manor Boulevard.

Police say a 35-year-old woman from Weeki Wachee and her 6-month-old son suffered fatal injuries in the wreck.
