ORANGE COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said it is searching for the driver involved in a crash in Orange County that left a motorcyclist dead.

According to WKMG, the incident occurred Thursday morning on State Road 520 near State Road 528 at about 5:20 a.m.  The FHP said the driver of a BMW was headed west in an eastbound lane of State Road 520.

The car struck the front of a motorcycle and the rider was ejected from the bike.  The motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene.

INDIAN SHORES, FL – A man died after he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed in Pinellas County Thursday night, WFLA reported.

The accident happened in the City of Indian Shores in the area of Gulf Boulevard and Park Boulevard Bridge.  According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, 45-year-old Kevin Meade was riding a 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound at a high rate of speed and crashed into a guard rail.

Meade was ejected from the bike and was pronounced dead at the scene.

ZELLWOOD, FL – A man was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed in Orange County Saturday afternoon, state troopers said.

WKMG reports the victim was riding south on Round Lane Road near King Avenue in Zellwood when the incident occurred shortly after 1 p.m.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist was unable to negotiate a right-hand curve, went off the roadway and crashed into a tree.

ALACHUA, FL – An accident in Alachua County Saturday morning left a motorcycle rider dead, reports the Gainesville Sun.

The incident took place on U.S. Highway 441 southbound in Micanopy at about 9:24 a.m.  According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a man was riding a motorcycle when he drove off the roadway and collided with a sign post.

The victim, a 31-year-old Alachua man, was pronounced dead after being taken to UF Health Shands Hospital.

MIAMI-DADE CO., FL – A man and a woman were rushed to the hospital following a single-motorcycle crash in the Hialeah area on Sunday.

According to WPLG, the collision took place in the northbound lanes of the Palmetto Expressway near the Okeechobee Road overpass.

Police say the driver lost control of his motorcycle for unknown reasons, causing it to eject both riders.

LEESBURG, FL – State troopers said a motorcyclist died after a collision in Leesburg, and a woman who stopped to help was injured in a separate crash.

The Leesburg-News reports the initial incident took place on County Road 473 near California Street shortly before 10:30 Oct. 1.  According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of a pickup truck was turning left into a gas station when he entered the path of a Harley-Davidson Street Glide motorcycle, resulting in a collision.  The motorcycle rider, a 57-year-old Leesburg man, was ejected from his bike and pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman driving by the scene got out of her car to try and assist the motorcyclist, the FHP said.  At that point another woman driving a Buick Century north on County Road 473 struck the motorcycle, which was pushed into both the motorcyclist and the woman attempting to help.

OCALA, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a motorcycle rider was killed in a collision with a car at an intersection in Ocala on Saturday afternoon.

The Ocala Star-Banner reports state troopers responded to the scene at Southeast 31st Street and Southeast 36th Avenue shortly before 3:30 p.m.

According to the FHP, a man was driving his motorcycle west on Southeast 31st Street and went through the intersection as the driver of a Toyota Camry was making a left turn onto Southeast 36th Avenue and the vehicles collided.

SUMTER COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a motorcycle and a pickup truck were involved in a fatal collision in Sumter County on Tuesday night.

WKMG reports the accident took place in the area of County Road 466 and County Road 223 at about 8:30 p.m.   According to the FHP, the driver of a pickup truck going west on County Road 466 made a left turn and entered the path of a motorcycle, causing the motorcycle to strike the front right side of the pickup.

The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead after being transported to an area hospital.  Troopers said the victim was a 44-year-old man from Wildwood.  The driver of the pickup truck, a 42-year-old Wildwood man, sustained minor injuries.

HERNANDO COUNTY, FL – A motorcyclist died following an accident on Ayers Road in Hernando County late Wednesday night.

According to the Tampa Free Press, the victim was a 41-year-old man from Brookville.  The Florida Highway Patrol said the rider was heading east near Trillium Boulevard when he lost control while negotiating a curve in the roadway at about 10:50 p.m.

The motorcycle entered the grass median and then overturned, state troopers said.  The rider was ejected from the motorcycle and died at the scene.

LADY LAKE, FL – Police in Lady Lake were at the scene of a crash that critically injured a motorcycle rider Sunday morning.

The Villages-News reports the accident took place at the intersection of County Road 466 and Rolling Acres Road at about 11 a.m.

According to investigators, the driver of an SUV going east on County Road 466 made a left turn onto Rolling Acres Road and entered the path of a motorcyclist who was driving west on County Road 466.
