PINELLAS COUNTY, FL – State troopers said a man died in a motorcycle crash in Pinellas County on Thursday night, WLFA reports.

The victim was a 19-year-old man from Largo.  According to the Florida Highway Patrol, he was riding his motorcycle west on Roosevelt Boulevard at about 9:20 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve and lost control on the exit ramp to Ulmerton Road.  The motorcycle went off the roadway and then off an overpass, and the rider was ejected from the bike.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead after being transported to an area hospital.

LAKE COUNTY, FL – A man died after his motorcycle was involved in a collision with an SUV in Lake County Wednesday afternoon, according to WKMG.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the vehicles crashed on U.S. Highway 27 at Green Cove Boulevard at 2:47 p.m.  The FHP said a woman was driving an SUV south on U.S. 27 when she tried to make a left turn onto Green Cove Boulevard.  The SUV entered the path of the northbound motorcyclist and struck the bike.

The motorcycle rider, a 51-year-old man from Clermont, was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital.  The driver of the SUV, a 51-year-old Clermont woman, was not injured and stayed at the scene.

OCALA, FL – Police say an alleged drunk driver was arrested after crashing into a dentist’s office in Ocala early Monday morning.

The Ocala Police Department released details of the incident in a Facebook post. Officers responded to Healthy Smiles Dentistry on SW 10th Street at about 12:30 a.m. after a Chevy Equinox first struck a vehicle in the roadway and then slammed into the building.  No one was injured.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as 23-year-old Gabriel Hausy, was spotted fleeing from the officers on foot.  After a brief pursuit, Hausy was detained.

DUNNELLON, FL – State troopers said a sport utility vehicle collided with a Marion County school bus on Tuesday morning, reports the Ocala-News.

The incident took place near the intersection of SW 155th Street and SW 100th Avenue in Dunnellon at about 7:15 a.m.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the school bus had stopped in the eastbound lanes of SW 155th Street with its stop signals displayed as a 15-year-old student was getting on board.  At that time, a 74-year-old Dunnellon woman was driving an SUV eastbound on SW 155th Street and failed to safely come to a stop, crashing into the back of the school bus.

MARION COUNTY, FL – State troopers were at the scene of a fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian accident in Marion County early Monday morning.

According to the Gainesville Sun, a man was trying to walk across the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 at about 2 a.m. when he walked into the path of a Ford Mustang at mile marker 362.

The pedestrian, whose name was not released, was struck by the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries.  The driver of the Ford, a 33-year-old man, and his passenger, a 32-year-old woman, were not injured.  Both are Orlando residents.

ALACHUA, FL – Police say a pedestrian accident in Alachua Friday morning left a child dead, according to WGFL.

The incident occurred in the 15400 block of Hipp Way near Criswell Park at about 7 a.m.  The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office notified local police that a child had been struck by a car.

Responding officers found the injured victim, a 5-year-old boy.  He was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital.

DADE CITY, FL –  The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred in Pasco County Tuesday night.

The Tampa Bay Times reports the crash happened on Tait Avenue near Lee Avenue in Dade City at about 8:35 p.m.

The FHP said a 42-year-old man was riding a bicycle north across Tait Avenue when he was struck by a westbound vehicle.  The bicyclist, a Dade City resident, was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

LAKE COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol released details of a fatal pickup truck accident that occurred in Lake County Sunday night.

WKMG reports a man was driving a pickup east on State Road 46 near State Road 453 when the incident took place at about 7:35 p.m.

The FHP said the driver lost control and the vehicle crashed into a fence, then kept going and struck a bridge support along the roadway.  The driver, a 23-year-old man from Oviedo, was pronounced dead at the scene.

BROOKSVILLE, FL – A woman died after being struck in Brooksville by a driver who left the scene, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

According to a report by WTSP, the 47-year-old victim was hit by a vehicle in the area of Citrus Way and Glory Lane on Monday, and suffered fatal injuries.

Investigators said debris from the crash scene helped them identify the vehicle involved as a 2002 Dodge Ram pickup truck.
